Michelle Drake, DPT, OCS
Doctorate of Physical Therapy
Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist
Michelle Drake is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound in May 2009. Thereafter she has been caring for, and a part of, the Anchorage community full-time. She enjoys helping clients with all orthopedic conditions including multi-site trauma, post-operative rehabilitation, chronic pain, orthopedic injury, simple neurological conditions, vestibular disorders, TMJ, and balance/fall risk. Michelle treats many different clients including but not limited to Veterans, active-duty service members, older adults wishing to stay active, and the local dance and martial arts communities. Michelle uses postural correction techniques, manual therapies, ongoing biomechanical assessment, and therapeutic exercises to improve movement impairments and pain. She believes strongly in communication and providing the client with education. Clients tend to heal faster when they take an active role in communicating honestly about their injury and participating in their own healing process. Knowledge gives you power to treat and to heal.
Michelle has a nearly 30-year background as a dancer/yogi and instructor of both. She has been practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu for 5 years and spends as much time as possible in the outdoors hiking, hunting, fishing, and exploring Alaska and beyond. Michelle is passionate about remaining active herself and helping her community do the same so we can all continue to live life with JOY and HAPPINESS.
